I had been under the weather

I hadn’t caught a cold for quite a while, but last weekend, I experienced a runny nose, a froggy voice, and something off with my throat. Strangely, there was no fever or pain, which is unusual for me because usually, these symptoms come with a high fever. Now I got much better though.

In Japan, especially during winter, the flu tends to circulate. The CDC in Japan predicted in October that flu infections would spread unprecedentedly this upcoming winter. This is a concern for me, as I work at an elementary school in Ueda City, Nagano, In the previous month, some classrooms had to be shut down due to the flu. I’ve heard that several other schools in the city also faced closures.

Take care, you guys!

PS: I have a scheduled climb for Mount Tengudake on January 3rd, 2024. I plan to stay in good shape and ensure I’m well-prepared for the winter mountain ascent.

This year’s cold has been lingering. We recommend that you go to the hospital as soon as possible. Even if I hold back, it won’t heal

I haven’t been feeling well since last weekend. I’m experiencing cold-like symptoms such as a runny nose and feeling a bit dizzy, but thankfully, no fever this time. I’ve been taking medication for high blood pressure since January 12, 2024. I’m concerned that my current symptoms might be related to the medication.

I have been experiencing throat discomfort without any apparent reason. Upon closely seeing my throat, I noticed a yellowish substance resembling a combination of white and yellow mucus sticking to it. I believe this may have contributed to my feeling unwell. Consequently, I promptly visited an Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) healthcare specialist last Thursday after finishing work.

I was diagnosed with a throat virus infection and prescribed a seven-day course of antibiotics. Now, the mucus in my throat has almost disappeared, and I am steadily recovering.
