Tongariro National Park, North Island, New Zealand

Tongariro National Park is home to three active volcanoes and some of New Zealand’s most iconic and majestic landscapes. Designated as a Dual World Heritage Site for both its natural beauty and cultural significance, the park has attracted adventurers from around the world since 1887.

This winter, I’ll be spending seven days in New Zealand, with my main goal being to attempt the summit plateau of Mt. Ruapehu (2,700 m).

I’m looking forward to another winter adventure in New Zealand. Here’s the plan for my seven-day journey.
